BIRGIT JORDAN

Birgit is a waterway and water management engineer with a passion for leadership that makes a positive difference on how water, waterways and all natural resources are managed towards sustainable, ethical, and equitable environmental and community outcomes.

 Drawing upon her university studies in waterway and water management and 30+ years’ experience in the private and public sector in Australia and Germany, Birgit seeks to apply her combined expertise in waterway and stormwater management to address the impacts of urbanisation on our precious natural water assets and water resources. Birgit’s specific experience in waterway restoration, constructed waterway design, Water Sensitive Urban Design, and Integrated Water Management ranges from technical investigation, mapping, analysis, modelling, and design to research involvement, technical guidance and tool development, capacity building, industry engagement and leadership, partnership collaboration, strategic catchment/program/investment planning, strategy and policy development.

 Outside of work, Birgit gets fueled by art, time in nature, cold water swimming and livelong learning.
