James McMillan

James is a waterway engineer specialising in geomorphology, waterway design and flood modelling. James has a Master’s in Water Resource Management and has worked in government and private sector roles, delivering a range of waterway restoration projects. James’ strengths are in detailed design for waterway rehabilitation works, flood recovery assessment and design, hydrologic and hydraulic modelling (1D and 2D) and fish passage design. James led the design of the Toorale infrastructure removal project that sought to increase flows down the Warrego River. This career shaping project involved the lowering of several dams and the design and construction of fish passage structures in the newly gazetted Toorale National Park in Western NSW.


Outside of work James enjoys spending time with his family, exploring new trails on his mountain bike and camping.
